National Roundtable on Policy Options for Hungary to Assure the Quality of Digital Higher Education
On October 4, the national roundtable was opened by Dr Balázs Hankó, Deputy State Secretary for Higher Education, Hungarian Ministry of Culture and Innovation, Prof. Dr Valéria Csépe, President, Hungarian Accreditation Committee and Prof. Dr Tamás Sterbenz, Rector, Hungarian University of Sports Science.
The event was organised by the Hungarian Deputy State Secretariat for Higher Education of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation (KIM), in cooperation with the Hungarian Accreditation Committee (MAB) and with the support of the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD). It was organised in the context of the ongoing project “Ensuring Quality Digital Higher Education in Hungary”, funded by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Structural Reform Support (DG REFORM).
The aim of the one-day national roundtable was to present an initial diagnosis and discuss preliminary recommendations with key stakeholders from the higher education sector in Hungary about the review of external QA standards, institutional internal quality management practices, and supports. The event provided an opportunity for a range of HEIs and other stakeholders to test, debate, and evaluate the OECD expert team’s initial findings and diagnosis, and to provide expert feedback on the preliminary recommendations.
