On October 18, 2024, the Hungarian Accreditation Committee (MAB) and the Association of Hungarian PhD and DLA Candidates (DOSZ) signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Valéria Csépe, the president of MAB and Dániel Molnár, DOSZ presidents, formally confirmed the successful professional cooperation going back several years, in which DOSZ delegates doctoral students to decision-making colleges and accreditation visiting committees of MAB and cooperates with international organizations.
The two organizations continue to see the support of quality doctoral training and excellence, the strengthening of research and innovation, and the development of a quality culture in higher education that also contributes to the outstanding academic performance of young people as a priority goal. With the agreement, MAB and DOSZ express their unchanged commitment and joint responsibility for the future of young people doing research work in Hungarian higher education institutions, and cooperate in the following professional areas to enforce this:
- strengthening the quality assurance and scientific systems and culture of higher education and doctoral training;
- participation in shaping and developing processes that lead to the success of the student’s life path – based on ESG standards and EHEA principles;
- the shaping of the researcher’s career model, the development of incentive, measurement and evaluation tools;
- activity aimed at the balance of quantitative (parametric) and qualitative evaluation in research evaluation;
- contributing to the quality-focused development of teaching and supervision activities;
- strengthening student, educational and research use of digital tools;
- the role undertaken in shaping the ethical use of the possibilities of artificial intelligence during higher education studies and research work;
- awareness of ethical academic behavior in order to preserve the credibility and integrity of science and strengthen trust in science;
- strengthening the international role of Hungarian higher education;
- coordination of internal training systems, creation of common training frameworks;
- the transmission of professional information and dissemination of knowledge for higher education actors and those directly and indirectly related to higher education.
